# Connect Digital Jobs to ChatGPT

Add Digital Jobs as a custom MCP server to give ChatGPT access to its job-search tools. Your account and workspace must permit custom MCP connections.

> **Connection status · 11 October 2026:** Public HTTP requests work, but the live server has schema and version-negotiation defects that can prevent client setup. These steps have been checked against official guidance; successful end-to-end connection in this client is not yet verified. See [known connection issues](troubleshooting.html).

## Setup

1. Open [ChatGPT Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins).
2. Select the plus button and **Add custom MCP server**.
3. Use **Digital Jobs** as the name and **Search Digital Jobs vacancies and AI opportunities** as the description.
4. Choose the public endpoint connection and enter `https://www.digitaljobs.com/mcp`.
5. For public search, configure no authentication if offered. For protected tools, use OAuth after completing [Digital Jobs account linking](authentication.html).
6. Review the connection warning, continue and select **Create as a plugin**.
7. Review the discovered tools and install the resulting plugin.
8. Start a new conversation, type `@`, select Digital Jobs and try the prompt below.

These steps follow [OpenAI's custom MCP connection guide](https://developers.openai.com/plugins/deploy/connect-chatgpt). Controls can vary with account permissions and product updates.

## Test the connection

> Use Digital Jobs to find five remote Python developer roles. Include the original job links and mark missing salary information as not stated.

Look for a `search_jobs` call. Read-only searches need no Digital Jobs login. Enable only the capabilities you intend to use.

## If setup fails

This guide is configuration guidance, not a certification of client compatibility. The current server has known schema and initialization issues that can prevent tool import. See [troubleshooting](troubleshooting.html). If custom MCP controls are absent, ask your workspace administrator about access. Pasting the server URL into a normal message does not create a connection.
